The new hide
About two weeks ago, I finished making a permanent hide at a wood a friend ownes. So this morning I decided to go and sit there for the first time. But before I left home we had a visiter on the front lawn. A Sparrowhawk had come to the bird table looking for breakfast! But it had not succeded and was sitting on the lawn watching the birds in next doors garden. This gave me the opportunity to get a quick photo from the upstairs window.
So onto the wood. Got settled and within five minutes the first bird arrived to feed on the feeders. This was a Marsh Tit. Over the course of the next half hour or so, there must of been at any one time thirty or more different birds around the feeders. These included Marsh, Coal, Blue, and Great Tits along with Chaffinches, a Robin and also with all the activity there were Goldcrests and a Treecreeper.
And invariably around feeders a Grey Squirrel also turned up. Managed to get some good close up shots of some of the birds and the Squirrel. Was very pleased at how successful the new hide was.
